Schiley Pierre Louis is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Microbiology and Cell Science. He previously studied ischemia-reperfusion injury post-liver surgery and explored the history of gene editing tools from Zinc finger proteins (ZNFs) to the CRISPR/Cas9 system.
In the lab, he performs experiments involving flow cytometry, analyzes subsequent data, and processes cases for HANDEL-I and nPOD. As a Lombardi and Stamps Scholar, Schiley has visited and studied abroad in Mexico, Peru, and South Africa. When he is not in the lab, you can catch him playing basketball or playing the bass guitar.
