Dr. Bishnu Prasad Sinha earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and master’s degree in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (MVSc) from the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) in India. He completed his PhD in Immunology at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), where his research focused on the type I interferon-mediated immunological connection between concomitant insulin resistance and psoriasis, with the aim of uncovering shared pathways in autoimmune and metabolic disorders.
In October 2024, Dr. Sinha joined Dr. Todd Brusko’s laboratory as a postdoctoral Associate at the University of Florida. His current research focuses on elucidating the role of myeloid cells in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes, contributing to a deeper understanding of immune mechanisms underlying the disease.
