Melanie Shapiro: PhD Candidate

Shapiro_MelanieMelanie joined the Brusko lab as a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Program in March 2016 after graduating with a degree in Cell Biology & Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland.  She is working on a project in collaboration with the Atkinson lab, evaluating the role of insulin-like growth factor 2 in immune modulation and in pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes.
