Ahmed Gomaa Elsayed: PhD Candidate

1Ahmed is an Egyptian PhD student. He finished his undergraduate degree in Medicine at Mansoura University in Egypt. Following that, he joined Microbiology and Immunology Department at his faculty as a demonstrator. He earned his master’s degree in nosocomiology.

Recently, he found himself interested in immunology and how regulatory T cells (Treg) modulate the immune system. For that, and after he was selected for a joint channel mission, he came to The US and joined Dr Brusko lab (2016) to work on a project “Autologous Regulatory T cell derived from Cyropreserved Umbilical Cord Blood Units as a Cellular Therapy for Type 1 Diabetes”.
